Is the NFL scripted? A loss in New England disproves conspiracy theory
It's NFL Kickoff and millions tuned in to see the first week of the season play out live. Tom Brady watched on from a booth atop Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts as rain poured down on the field. The rain soaked first kick was picturesque. The battle against all odds including the elements, the rivalry that sets the tone for the season amongst fans and the locker room.
“Good to be back,” Brady wrote as he posted a photo of the trophy room on X, formerly Twitter.

Patriots Quarterback Mac Jones was grinding his way down the field as the final minute approached. New England was down by just five points, and a touchdown would give them a victory and undefeated record to start the season. Jones came back from the final timeout and failed to bring his team home for the victory.
In the off season there were rumors circulating the internet that the NFL was scripted, and the players knew the outcomes of the games before they hit the field. Brady joked that if the outcome was planned, he never would have lost to Eli Manning in the championship.
How much is the NFL worth?
Talk of forces at work behind the scenes of the biggest entertainment industry in the country came in January from former Texans running back Arian Foster. The NFL and its teams are estimated to be worth over $150 billion.

“That’s what practicing was about,” Foster said on the Macrodosing podcast, “was about practicing the script.”
Foster said that before the season begins, each player is given a script that details what injuries they will receive throughout the season, how many touchdowns they will have and how the referees will call each game.
“You’ve still got to put on a show,” Foster said.
NFL releases fake hoax commercial
The NFL seized the moment to make light of the allegations with a commercial featuring comedian Keegan-Michael Key.
“Allright everyone. Last season was a smash. Ratings Gold,” Key says in the ad. “But this year’s script has to top it.”

The commercial shows a hypothetical table read of the script for the 104th season. Key and a player joke about a hands free catch for a touchdown.
Patriots lose season opening game against the Philadelphia Eagles
As Brady watched his decorated team lose at home in the season opening game Sunday, with the added excitement from the rain and close score that came down to the last play of the game, either the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles are pre-selected for a dominant year, or its further evidence that players love to make light of these conspiracy theories in the media.
